Title: Other People
Directed and Edited by Candace Thompson
Musicians: Koenings Blauw, Telecopy, Marionettes of Satan
Performers: Nicole Beckwith, Eric Kuehneman, Quentin Fears, Ben Sinclair, Candace Walters, Candace Thompson, Delaney Britt Brewer and John Peery
Artists Statement: Other People is a 5 part narrative series that tells the story of 3 ugly roommates living in a haunted loft. Best described as "Peewee's Playhouse on Acid", Other People employs a homemade, "janky" aesthetic through theatrical performances, homemade greenscreens, and costumes, puppets, and animations made mostly from street trash.  It is created by long time collaborators Candace Thompson, Delaney Britt Brewer and John Peery, but engages a huge community of fellow performers, musicians, animators and artists-- both from Brooklyn and beyond-- to create a surreal world in which anything can happen.  Incidents 1, 2 and 3 were shot in Brooklyn. Incident 4, which will be released this fall, was created while traveling across the United States for 3 months in a 30 year old RV. Incident 5 was created while in residence in Trondheim, Norway, and is slated for release next year.

Ampersand – Ruben Woodin Dechamps
Title: Ampersand
Director Ruben Woodin Dechamps
Production Manager: Balint Revesz
Second Camera: Zamarin Wahdat

Film Site: http://www.cargocollective.com

Stephen Oldfield - Various Metal Objects
Brian Bushell - Various electronics and noise
Joe Oldfield - Bass sounds
Gabriel Gilbert - Various Metal Noises

Ampersand are an improvisational sound ensemble who have performed across Europe over the last nine years.  They produce an experience of sound to envelop the audience in the act of the moment and the art of the moment. This uniquely pan-generational group utilises found objects, engineered metal, deconstructed traditional instruments and audio toys. Ampersand performances are always improvised, they arise thus from the moment, the place, the atmosphere, the occurrences of that day. The sound, and the experience of that sound, are imposed on all the senses, to share with the audience a charged and superlayered emotional state.

Jan Swinburne
Title: IF THEN
Jan Swinburne shot, edited, processed and created the original soundtrack for IF THEN.
Jan Swinburne is a visual artist whose multi-media practice is centred on concepts worked through paint and other media that at times mutate into large-scale, site-specific installations and projects. As an emerging video artist, Swinburne’s interest is oriented to meta-exposure and image degeneration in the form of music/video-painting. Apart from creating original soundtracks, there have been several collaborations with musician/composers: Ryan Campos, Philippe Gerber (JOHN 3:16), Oscar Finch (Venn Diagram) and Marco Fierro (Burstbot) Swinburne’s work as an art facilitator in the disability/psychiatric community has afforded opportunities to write and present talks on inclusive practices at The Art Gallery of Ontario, Ontario College of Art and Design University, VSA Arts International and Workman Arts. Jan Swinburne is a constituent of the alumni of Dawson College and the Ontario College of Art and Design University and is a member of Workman Arts visual arts advisory board.

JOHN 3:16
Title: La Fin Absolue Du Monde

JOHN 3:16 is a unique experiment relying on the broad culture of its solo composer. Heavy and aerial, the music is leading here. No rules to follow as no genre wide enough to encompass all the elements in JOHN 3:16. In between soundtrack, ambient electronic and drone, each track is a piece of space somewhere, far away from here.
'La Fin Absolue Du Monde' is taken from the new JOHN 3:16 EP to be released on Alrealon Musique in 2015.

Robin Storey
Title: A chair, a universe, a moment...

This is a video demonstrating the physical manifestation of multiple universes with a public space and a chair. The chair is set against a blank background and is accessible to those that pass by. The chair has a binary symbolic existence. It can either be occupied or not occupied.
Those that chose to occupy the chair affirm its existence. Those that walk past leave it in a state of suspended existence. Neither confirmed nor denied. The simple choice of using the chair or not using the chair provides a point of departure for each parallel universe. To illustrate the point one person is featured making the choice, again and again and again. The eyes of Brahman watch. The sounds are those that are made when no one is listening. They are recorded randomly and arranged into meaning. Their very existence is chance. The sounds of people talking, recorded randomly, stretched and manipulated into drones and electronic whispers with traditional acoustic instruments added eg. piano and trumpet. These are also treated and manipulated. The video is filmed in the public space and is intended to be projected onto a wall in another public space with a similar chair placed underneath. The process continues... The “real” world interacting with a recorded projection of “another” world.
The Universe is Brahman, the One that underlies and make possible all the multiplicity; the universal consciousness that is the soul of all existence. It is the primordial no- thingness from which all things arise, the one reality whose oneness is all-inclusive; and includes all that is, or shall be. It is Brahman.

Biography: Robin Storey. Aka Rapoon. Robin Storey was born in 1955 in Cumbria, England. While studying fine arts at Sunderland University, he began pursuing a long-held interest in sound manipulation by taking classes in electronic and experimental composition, In 1980 Storey became a founding member of the pioneering post-industrial group: zoviet*france:, remaining a member until 1992: The same year Storey issued the first Rapoon album, Dream Circle, “its entrancing fusion of Indian ragas, African rhythms and experimental textures anticipating the evocative soundscapes of the many releases to follow”. Also a noted visual artist and animator, Storey's work has been exhibited throughout the world and is in the collections of many major galleries. Storey has collaborated widely and has produced albums with artists including Joachim Roedelius (Cluster , Harmonia) Steven Wilson (Bass Communion,Porcupine tree) Russian Folk singer Tatyana Stepchenko aka.Toloka, and many others . In 2014 Storey has his music used in David Holmes Short film “I am Here”. Screening debut this autumn on UK Channel 4 Storey has also produced two best-selling sound loop libraries for Sony Media and has had his work used for TV advertising. Wayne J. Tirone
Title: "Persephone"

Title: "Ancient Songbird Dreams"

Wayne J. Tirone created and edited both original music tracks and filmed, directed, edited each of the films for each track. Moonbloom is the band/moniker of solo musician/guitarist and visual artist, film maker, Wayne J. Tirone. The dynamic between music and visual art influencing each other is the dual process of artistic disciplines I work in. To me, music and visual art are intertwined and either can inspire the other. Inspiration comes from a deep reverence and respect for nature's forest rhythms. I graduated from Paier College of Art in Hamden, CT with a BFA in Illustration. I'm presently residing on the shoreline in Madison, CT.

Adel Souto
Title: "Where Even Fools Often Fear to Tread".
Director, cinematographer, editor: Adel Souto.
  The music: 156.

Artist statement is so: "Where Even Fools Often Fear to Tread is a short film by NYC writer / musician Adel Souto, and was created to show how the everyday, and mundane, if seen from the right perspective, can be beautiful, awe-inspiring, or possibly even psychedelic, while also believing the film showcases the fact that many of our hearts lay underground. Technically, much of what makes up this film is illegal, as a large portions of 156's music involves trespassing, not to mention that one cannot film NYC subway trains, as well as tunnel infrastructure, due to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11th, hence the running time of nine minutes and eleven seconds."

East Elevation, it is an music video i made in collaboration with Longstone, a England band that plays improvise music.  Description: The work concerns on the significant of subculture. Intend to draw attention to free improvisation music. Free improvisation is a music genre that play without any rules. The video associated this music genre uses a graphic style. It pointed out the rebellion of improvised music against the mainstream and society. Illuminations and city lights were used upon nature and flowers as a counterpoint to nature.
It also illustrated a narrative story of a flower searching for a flower paradise, signifying a lonely person searching his or her union.

Title: Time Gap

synopsis:
Delay, gap, space. What does space contain concerning to the image instant in its duration?

How to portrait time without its documental heritage that images Always produces?
An image in a Contemporary Cinema, non referential, its not the imitation of nature anymore,

but just a gap. To produce gaps in time is the contemporary nature of the image.
It shows the cinema language nature while it "speaks" about time through images.
Time Gap is a short movie about the birth of the image through using the film skin in an 8mm
material as a body skin to expose its possibilities  through the digital technology.
The film was shot in Detroit, the icon of american captalism that is an emperor of decay today

RAFAEL SCHLICHTING Graduated in Film and Video in 2005, Rafael Favaretto Schlichting devoted himself since college to create a film that investigate the cinematic language. Video and film have never been antithetical to that he has worked on various platforms and he has been using both digital and analogic patterns. What interest him is to investigate new forms in visual images and sounds. Besides his filmography of 11 short films, Rafael is doing the post-production of his first two feature films CLÁUDIA CÁRDENAS Claudia discovered the art of Video after her PHD in Literature. Her interest in filming increased after giving Esthetics&Mass Media Theory to Cinema students at university. Coming from Literature field she became interested in cinematic language in all its forms and possibilities and all her studies brought to her work a distance between words and images. Although she is a script writter she is approaching more and more a non narrative language  in her videos and movies, even in her first two feature films she has worked with Rafael Schlichting.

Title: In Cars: The Sporting Life Artist's Statement
"The Sporting Life" is one of a series of short films called, In Cars. In Cars shorts are films shot in, around and about cars. So much of our lives are attached to these vehicles that they carry with them the nature of a mini-stage on which we perform our daily lives. "The Sporting Life" is a surreal depiction of the essence of Steppenwolf, a novel by German writer Hermann Hesse. Steppenwolf is the story of a man struggling with his existence. "The Sporting Life" mirrors this struggle through dialogue, camera movement, music and editing. Each of the characters are aspects of the main character, who is himself an aspect of the author Hermann Hesse. This allows us to also impress ourselves on the characters and recognize aspects of ourselves in them.
The car is a vehicle for movement just as work is a vehicle for socialization, just as psychedelic cactus is a vehicle for disassociation and shared experience. Protest, sex, work, friendship, loneliness, discovery, fear, confusion all comply within the framework of experience as the characters, aspects of one, act in conflict with each other.
The statement Hermann Hesse made by writing Steppenwolf is undoubtedly different from the statement made by "The Sporting Life", but it seems the steppenwolf is and will always be a loner.

Dana Schechter
Title: Ocular Wheel
All music/video created/directed by Dana Schechter
Audio Mix: Ethan Donaldson

“Ocular Wheel” is a dreamscape mocking our sense of human vision. By playing with the shape of the human eye in animation, a twisted reflection of our very sight stares back at us, like a distorted infinity mirror. First I created the concept, did storyboards, then composed and recorded the music; next I filmed 24 people’s eyes in close proximity, and in post-production, isolated each eye and animated them as shapes. Originally created for/premiered at Neurotitan Gallery, Berlin, Germany on August 30, 2013 for the “My Icon” group show, curated by Danielle de Picciotto.

Title: The Icing
Created by Amanda V. Wagner, featuring Margie Negrin.
Contact Info: amanda.v.wagner@gmail.com
Music by Fountainpen http://fountainpen.bandcamp.com

I view art and life to be mutually inclusive–one will always inform the other and vise versa. With this in mind, I seek to construct moments that isolate the relationship between art and reality in order to delineate their inherit bond. “The Icing” captures an organic conversation that speaks to a larger conflict in the subject’s life. The subject of the piece, my mother, gives an honest and intimate telling of an abusive relationship. The candid and personal nature of her conversation is further reflected in her action, the removal of makeup. Both are intimate, and a shedding of self. Though she appears to be removing her makeup throughout the video, it remains on her face just as the burden of this abusive relationship remains a part of her life. In this moment, captured through my lens, audience members are able to share this experience and are encouraged to harp on their own burdens.

Title: We Are Fools

The Major Arcana of the Tarot are neither allegories nor secrets, because allegories are only figurative representations of abstract notions, and secrets are only facts, procedures, practices, that one keeps to oneself for a personal motive, since they are able to be understood and put into practice by others to whom one does not want to reveal them. The Major Arcana of the Tarot are authentic symbols. They conceal and reveal their sense at one and the same time according to the depth of meditation. That which they reveal are not secrets, i.e. things hidden by human will, but are arcane, which is something quite different. An Arcanum is that which it is necessary to “know” in order to be fruitful in a given domain of spiritual life. http://www.perfectwave.org/we-are-fools
