TL0741’s unsettled dream music will be the leisure-time birthing chamber atmospheres and waltzes of choice when cockroaches and machines have inherited the Earth. Pat Gillis (b. 1965, USA) began performing as TL0741 in January 2005, presenting structured improvisations for analogue modular synthesizer and effects combined with pre-recorded material. The sounds of his dynamic alchemical multiverse arise from everywhere: nocturnal wildlife, incomprehensible voicemails, obscure antique pornos, treated instruments and decontextualized / processed location recordings. Drones, unstable automata and inharmonic gestures are harvested from the electrons accompanied by the smell of overheated analogue circuitry, providing an invisible but tangible companion for every listener.
